5 Majestic Castles in Germany

Castles always remind us of fairy tales, and make us believe that they existed. While there are many castles around the world that are marvelous but Germany is home to castles with the most stunning views. Some of these castles still have treasures that include previous artifacts, furniture’s, and paintings!

1.  Mespelbrunn Castle

One of the most romantic castles, this castle is surround by water filled moat. It is located at heart of the Spessart.

2. Lichtenstein Castle

This castle is not too famous outside of Germany. But it is known as a fairy tale castle of Baden-Württemberg and is worth a visit. Most international tourist have no idea about this castle so it is not over crowded ever.

3. Schwerin Palace

This romantic fairytale fortress, with all its many towers, domes and wings, is reflected in the waters of Lake Schwerin.

4.  Hohenschwangau Castle


Hohenschwangau Castle was one of the summer residences for the Bavarian royal family and is located on a small hill in the center of Hohenschwangau, Germany. If you are a history fan this should be on your list.

5. Eltz castle

Burg Eltz (Eltz Castle) is enchanting. This atmospheric German castle is located in a rural, wooded dell; not too far from the winding river Rhine.
In common with many other German castles, Burg Eltz has been designed more for looks than for defence – it’s really a grand rural home, rather than an old Medieval fortress.
