Hidden away in the Chinese Himalayas are a mysterious species of monkeys, unlike any other of their kind. The Yunnan snub-nosed monkey live in the highest forests of the world are the most endangered of China’s three snub-nosed monkey species.

Different and gentler than others of their kind, you’ll find these snub-nosed monkeys eerily beautiful. The very sight of these elfin-like monkeys with their tiny noses, almond eyes and large pink lips is enthralling.

The family is led by a formidable fighter and his fighting force who protect a troop of eight to ten families. Now this is a truly unique monkey society, formed to endure the hardships of the Himalayas.

However, strong defensive strategies just aren’t enough to ensure their survival. It also relies upon the cooperation and interdependence of them all. Living at an altitude of 4000 meters, they are the exclusive stars of their enchanted mountain valley, not far from the ancient city of Shangri-La.
